If you are a current student, faculty, or employee, and have logged in to email before, please follow these instructions to access UIS.  All FORMER employees and students, please see the steps below.

1. Log in to https://signon.stjohns.edu

    (For instructions on how to log in, please see: Sign-on Portal Instructions)

2.  Click on the UIS link that appears:

FIRST-TIME NEW USERS & Alumni (i.e., prospective students that have not yet received an email address)
Required credentials for logging in:
Username: X Number (The “X” must be capitalized) 

**If you are a NEW student, your XID number should appear on your acceptance letter or given to you by your advisor.  If you are a NEW employee, this will be given to you by an HR representative.

Password: Captial letter S, lowercase j, and only the eight digits from your XID number (Default for first time logging in. After logging in for the first time, you will be forced to change it to the following criteria.)

  • Minimum of 10 Characters (May also be longer)

  • At least 1 Capital letter

  • At least 1 lowercase letter

  • At least 1 number

  • Cannot contain your name or username

  • Cannot repeat any of your previous 5 passwords
