Welcome to your portal - a central location where you can access the systems, people, information, and updates you need to succeed at St. John's University. 

This guide will help you get familiar with the platform.

If you do not have access to a SmartPhone, you can still access the content on St. John's U Connect.

Simply log in to your Sign-On Portal on https://signon.stjohns.edu, and click on the Connect App tile.


Profile





Your profile is located in the top right corner. Here you can add a profile picture and additional information so staff and students can get to know you. For details on how to edit your profile, click here.

 



Account Settings






Adjust your account settings by clicking on your profile picture. Here you can change privacy settings to make your profile public, private, or viewable only by your connections. You can also use account settings to choose how you would like to be notified when activity happens on the platform. For details on how to adjust privacy settings, click here. Connections


Connect with people at St. John's University to see which events they’re attending, the groups they join, the conversations they’re engaging with and more. The connections section is located as a tab on your profile. Here you can see your current connections, connection requests you’ve received and sent, and suggested people to connect with. Messaging



Select the messages icon in the top right corner to send a private message to an individual or a group of users. For more information on messaging, click here



Search and Discover



Search is a simple and powerful way to access everything available to you within St. John's University. You can search for posts, groups, events,  people, pages, tools, files, and FAQs. Use the discover feature to find new groups to join, events that interest you and find peers with similar profiles. Interested in learning more about search and discover? Click here


Notices and Alerts



Notices and alerts provide important information from St. John's University. These announcements may show up in your activity feed, as a notification in the notification bell, via email, or by SMS text message.  For more information on notices and alerts, click here



ShortCuts



Add groups, tools and pages that you use often to your shortcuts for quick, one-click access! To shortcut an item, select the star icon. Want to learn more about shortcuts? Click here.



Groups

Groups connect you with announcements, conversations, events and resources. Groups you already belong to are in your menu and more groups can be found using discover. Create your own group to collaborate on a project or topic, post announcements, share valuable resources and highlight events. For more information on groups, click here. Tools


Tools are personalized links that give you one-click access to other systems and apps. You already have some important tools in your menu, but you can always click on the tools heading to explore more. You can add tools to your menu by clicking the add to menu icon or favorite a tool using the star. If you see a lock icon next to a tool, it is required and cannot be removed from your menu. Pages


Pages feature information from St. John's University. Relevant pages are already in your menu, and you can always click on the pages heading to view all available pages. Just like tools, pages can be added to the menu and favorited. If you see a lock icon next to a page, it is a required page and cannot be removed from your menu.
