As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance communication and collaboration within the St. John’s University community, we will transition to Microsoft Teams for all your phone needs. Teams provides an improved and integrated experience for voice and video calling.
This change is aimed at streamlining our communication tools, improving efficiency, and leveraging the integrated features of Teams for better overall productivity. Several business units have already made this transition with success. Over the next nine months, the Office of Information Technology will work to make the switch University-wide.
This change replaces your physical phone instruments, and your phone service will be through your laptop or computer with a headset. However, you will keep your existing extension, and we will work with you to enable a smooth transition with minimal interruption. Some of the key benefits of this transition are
Unified Communication: Teams will integrate chat, video, voice calls, and file sharing into one platform, reducing the need for multiple communication tools.
Enhanced Collaboration: You’ll benefit from real-time collaboration features, including shared documents and project management tools.
Remote Work Efficiency: Teams features seamless remote work support, ensuring you remain connected and productive from any location.
