This message is for individuals who are currently using a University Computer - Laptop or Desktop.
For security purposes, the University is required to maintain Operating Systems and Security updates to ensure the device is protected.

Windows System and Security Updates
If you are using Windows Operating System-Based SJU Laptop, you may see with the following notifications:
If you are using an SJU Desktop, the notification will look like this:
If a Security Patch needs to be installed, it will apply in the background and require a restart upon completion. The restart can be delayed for up to 48 hours.
When a feature update is being applied, a prompt will appear to let you decide when to restart.
Please select, “Update Now.” The update can take 20 min to an Hour for a Feature Update.
You will be asked to restart your computer upon completion.

Mac OS System and Security Updates
If you are using an Apple macOS based computer, you will see the following message prompt:
You will have the option to defer the update, but it must be completed by the days remaining to count in the prompt. Your options are Later, One Hour, One Day or Customize a date.
To continue with the Upgrade, please click on the Upgrade Now button on the top right area of the prompt.
The installer may have to be downloaded, and the installer will start once it has finished.
Once completed you will get the following windows:
1. Click “Continue,” and Agree to the License and Terms.
2. Click “Continue,” and enter your Username and Password at the prompt. These will be the same credentials that you use to log in to the computer and the Sign-On Portal.
3. The install process will begin.
The process may take up to an hour. And you may be required to log in after installation and restarting of your Mac.
