Pearson Revel and eText is an interactive reading and learning environment that enables students to read, practice, and study in one continuous experience. At St. John’s, Pearson Revel and eText is connected to Canvas using the “Access Pearson” LTI.


(blue star) Important Note! If you were previously using Pearson’s “Pearson Revel and eText” LTI in your Canvas course, you will need to transition your course over to Access Pearson. How do I add this LTI to my course?

The process for adding Pearson Revel and eText to your Canvas course’s Course Navigation menu can be found below:


Step 1: Add the link to open Pearson content

  1. Log in to Canvas as an instructor and open your course.

  2. Select Settings from the bottom of the left navigation (image 2.1)

  1. Go to Access Pearson under Drag items here to hide any links from students (image 4.1)

  1. Drag Access Pearson into the course navigation list above (image 5.1). You can change the link’s location at any time.

  1. Select Save at the bottom of the page (image 6.1)

Step 2: Add or copy Revel or eText content to your course

To access Revel content from your Canvas course, link your accounts once and add or copy content to your Canvas course. Then set up Revel or eText assignments.


Link your accounts

  1. From your Canvas course, select the Access Pearson link in your Course Navigatoin menu. Don't see the link? Click here for more help!

  2. Select Open Pearson (image 2.a)

  1. Select Revel | eText. Your selection is permanent and can't be undone (image 3.a)

  1. If needed, agree to any authorization requests and accept cookies.

  2. If prompted, enter the username and password from your existing Pearson instructor account and select Link accounts. If you don't have an account, select Create an account and follow the prompts (image 5.a). You can only link one LMS account to one Pearson account.

  1. Select Continue (image 6.a).

How do I get support for this LTI if I need help?

    2. Faculty Technical Support

      1. Should you encounter a technical issue, before contacting Pearson Support (linked), check out the Troubleshooting Guide (linked) for a quick solution to your problem. 

      2. If you do need to contact Pearson Support, they will need your Diagnostics information. To access the Diagnostics page: 

        1. Enter the Canvas course and select Pearson Revel in the course navigation. 

        2. On the Help & Support tab, select Get Diagnostics

        3. You can download the Diagnostics to a .txt file if you need to share it with Support. 

        4. If necessary, you can permanently remove the course association between your Canvas course and Revel content. From the Diagnostics page select Remove Association with Revel Course, then Yes, remove course association.

          1. Once you do this, you and your students will only be able to access that Revel content by signing directly into Revel. Delete any Revel grades and assignments in Canvas, especially if you are going to associate your Canvas course with different Revel content.
