By default, all Teams meetings created using the Microsoft Teams meetings LTI in Canvas have “Allow Attendance Report” toggled on.

The Attendance report will give you information on who attended the meeting, when they joined and left the meeting, how long they were in the meeting, and any engagement they had during the meeting (camera on, chat messages, reactions they used, etc.).

(blue star) Please note that this feature is only available if you created the meeting using the “Microsoft Teams meetings” button in your Course Navigation menu.

If you created the meeting using the Rich Content Editor, the meeting is treated as an “instant meeting” and will not populate an attendance report.

There are two ways to view the attendance report after the meeting has occurred: in the Meeting Invite and in the Meeting Chat.

In the Meeting Invite

  1. Open Microsoft Teams and go to Calendarimage-20250314-190326.png

  2. Select a past meeting.

  3. Select Recap. This will allow you to view the data directly in Teams.

In the Meeting Chat

Organizers (the person who created the meeting) can view the attendance report from the meeting chat after the meeting ends.

Attendance report will pop into the chat about five minutes after your meeting ends. Select it to view and download the .csv file.

After a meeting ends, co-organizers can only view attendance reports from the meeting chat.

Notes:

  • For recurring meetings, you'll receive a unique attendance report after each occurrence. You won't see the tile in meeting chat for meetings with less than 2 attendees. You can still see these reports by going to the invite "attendance" tab.

  • Reports are permanently deleted if an organizer leaves the organization, and no one else can access them.

What else is there?
