The W.W. Norton 1.3 LTI allows faculty to integrate Norton Digital Learning Tools with their Canvas courses, as well as enabling Grade Pass-Back to your Canvas gradebook for those Digital Learning Tools that generate Grades.

.

When you utilize Norton Digital Learning Tools in your Canvas course, Norton will provide you with a RLMS file import, which is a file with a .imscc extension. See the steps below to import this .imscc file to your Canvas course:

.

How do I Import the RLMS file into my Canvas Course

  1. Download the Canvas Course Export Package file from W.W. Norton’s Instructor Resource page for your text by selecting the download button beside the Canvas Resources.

  2. The downloaded file will have an .imscc extension. Do not attempt to open the file at this time.

  3. Log into your course shell in Canvas and navigate to the Settings page.

  4. On the Settings page, click on Import Content into this Course.

  5. This opens a page where you'll select your file type.

  6. In the Content Type field on the next page, select Canvas Course Export Package.

  7. Browse for your file ending in imscc on your desktop.

  8. If you want to select specific items, check off Select specific content.

  9. Click on Import, and the system will begin the import process.

    • If you are selecting specific content, use the blue button to bring up the list of available materials.

    • Check off your desired content, and then click the Select Content button to begin the import process.

  10. While the import is running, a progress bar will appear on your page.
