This article will guide you on how to set up your access to a Shared Network Drive Folder.

** If you need to know how to remove an older network drive that you no longer need, please see this guide: How do I remove a shared network drive?

  • Setup for Windows 10/11-based computers
  • Setup for Mac (OSX) based computers

A few things to check prior to beginning the steps to setting up a network drive:

    • Before mapping a Department Network Share Drive, check to make sure that permission to access it has already been requested for you by your reporting manager. If you can't connect to a network drive or folder, you might not have the correct permission. Reporting managers can submit the following request form:
      Departmental Network Share Request Form

    • If you need to map a drive to connect to databases for applications such as Xtender, Workflow, etc, you must already have been granted an account for access. If you need this access, your reporting manager must submit the following service request form: Banner Access Request Form

    • If you already have been granted accessthis setup can ONLY be completed on an SJU-issued computer. Personal computing devices are NOT authorized to connect to SJU Network Resources.

    • OFF-Campus access REQUIRES VPN CONNECTION prior to attempting to connect to a Network Share drive folder.
