The Panopto Video LTI is an easy solution for managing, streaming, and recording videos to share with students. By enabling this LTI in your course, a new course folder is automatically created for you to share videos with your students in Canvas. Once enabled, there are many ways you can share these videos with your students, including embedding using the Rich Content Editor, adding the video directly to a module, and even assigning a Panopto video as an Assignment. You can even create a Student Assignment folder so that your students can upload their own videos!
As a note, one of the many benefits of using the Panopto Video LTI in your Canvas course is that videos added to Panopto do not count towards your Canvas course storage! Canvas courses only have 1GB of storage space, which can fill up quickly when adding videos. By uploading the video to your course’s Panopto folder instead, you can add a link to the video to your modules and instead dedicate that Canvas course storage space to other valuable resources for your students.
