I will be traveling internationally and will need to get into my St. John’s University account. How will I be able to access multifactor?
Those who will be traveling internationally and will need to access the St. John’s University accounts, it is recommended that if you do not have text or calling features available to you, that OKTA verification be set up on your account prior to travel. It is also recommended that you submit a ticket to the Information Technology Security team prior to international travel to ensure that your account is not locked due to suspicious activity. The following information is recommended:

Destination
Areas for access. ie, checking email, timesheet submission, registering for classes, etc.

Can I bring my work laptop with me when traveling internationally?
The IT Information Security does not recommend that any individual bring their work laptop with them when traveling abroad. The IT Service Center can provide individuals who will be working during their time abroad with a device.

During travel, the device I was using to access St. John’s University data was lost or stolen. What should I do?
If a laptop that is managed by Information Technology is lost or stolen, contact IT immediately. A report with the local police department, as well as Public Safety, will be required. St. John’s University will work with local law enforcement to retrieve the device where possible.
If your personal device is lost or stolen with access to your St. John’s University account, it is recommended that you contact IT immediately. IT will reset the password as well as Multifactor until you return to campus.
